The seven astronauts from space shuttle Discovery mission STS-119 returned home to Houston after flying from Kennedy Space Center of NASA in Florida March 29.
Discovery and its crew of seven on the road safely touched 15 at Kennedy’s Shuttle Landing Facility 3:14 pm EDT March 28. The weather has cooperated enough to allow the spacecraft to the ground for a second chance.
Mission Specialist Sandra Magnus also returned to Earth with the STS-119 crew. Magnus spent 129 days aboard the ISS as flight engineer for Expedition 18. Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata has taken its place the orbiting lab and return to Earth with the STS-127 crew.
The 13-day mission includes three spacewalks, approximately 6 hours a piece, to install the S6 truss and enormous straight-side solar array. They also explained the arrays and performed other tasks to get there first.

Mission STS-119 crew of seven successfully completed the mission on board the International Space Station - increasing the power of the orbiting laboratory capacity and giving it the capacity to accommodate the additional crew members in the future.
